Turn a photo into sound, or find the picture hidden in any sound. Then turn the sound into music.
01Start from a photo or a sound
The photo stays on your device. Large photos are shrunk before processing, since the sound only uses a few hundred points across.
Any recording works: a voice memo, birdsong, music, or a WAV saved from this page. Twenty to sixty seconds reads best, so longer sounds are trimmed. The sound stays on your device.
02Pick how it sounds
Hidden pictures often sit above 8 kHz: try Full. Most spectrogram tools draw on a Linear scale, so if a picture looks squashed toward the top, switch to Linear. Use Low if everything sits at the bottom.

03Listen
Low pitches at the bottom, high at the top, time from left to right. Looking for a hidden picture? Try Full range, then Linear scale. If everything sits at the bottom, use Low. If it's a flat grey field, try Quick detail.
The round trip: your sound became a picture, and the picture became sound again. What you hear is what the picture kept.
The music is made of new notes, so this mostly shows the notes. Raise "Picture under the music" in More settings to bring the photo back. Shown in grey because colour would be painted on, not recovered.
Spectral fidelity: 1.0 is identical, 0.04 is noise.
